2 Sure-Fire Tips to Keep You Healthy While Traveling
With summer comes travel time, WooHoo!
But, people often treat travel as a time they can not control and therefore think being healthy will have to take a backseat for the summer.
Listen there’s loads of ways you can continue to find quality health wins during travel, no matter how hectic the kids, transit or friends & family are.
Here’s 2 tips that will help all your healthy hard work continue in a positive direction..
1. Add a days plans around walking or biking accessible areas.
Parks, beaches, downtowns, neighborhoods, they all offer great spaces to spend time together on your feet.
Even if these are short walks, some movement is ALWAYS better than NO movement.
Got little kids?, where's the stroller?
....Or hold them on your shoulders for even a short walk (and remember to keep your core tight 😉)
This can even be around an airport… can you take a lap or 2 through the airport while you wait?
Plus you add Vitamin D with sun exposure outside, which helps boost everyone's immune systems and moods.
I promise you, everyone will feel better with a little or a lot of extra movement!
2. Choose a Salad 1 Time🥗
This can mean different things to different people.
Maybe it’s 1x during the weekend or throughout the trip? Maybe it’s 1x a day?
The point of the matter is to make it easily doable and an accomplishment. Confidence builds as we practice doing things, which then enhances our likelihood of repeating our actions going forward. Positive momentum.
All too often there’s an ‘All or None’ mentality that encompasses travel. NOT TRUE, every single time you make any healthier decision on ANYTHING no matter how big or small it may be, THAT’S A HEALTHY WIN!
And practicing and stacking healthy wins is how long term goals are met and kept.
Lastly, when you do end up choosing a salad 1x or asking your sibling if they wouldn’t mind walking and talking, take notice and give yourself the credit you deserve.
