When we foam roll or stretch in a still fashion with the goal or loosening up tight muscles, the body often goes right back to having the same issues.
When we add movement and mobilization while rolling and/or stretching, this teaches the body to not tighten back up when we go about our normal everyday lives and movement patterns.
Plus if you can slow and deepen your breathing while doing these, we continue to signal to the body that we can relax and move again safely and without pain.
Add these mobilization techniques to your foam rolling as a way maintain less tension in your muscles and then keep it that way after a long work day.
